OMEGA™ Neutralization System
Performance Features

Lower operating costs and no NOVs (notice of violations) are what process engineers are looking for in a waste neutralization system. Reliable, automatic performance is essential at all times, even in the presence of acid or caustic surges.

You will not find another waste neutralization system with better components or as many high-end features offered as standard as Wastech's OMEGA™ waste neutralization systems. This second of two emails discusses OMEGA performance. The first email was on the subject OMEGA safety.

Quality control panels. As a CSIA Certified Control System Integrator, Wastech builds UL-labeled panels with CAD wiring diagrams, labeled and color coded wiring, and quality components. Our control panel workmanship is unequaled in the industry. Advanced software control. As an expert in neutralization, Wastech has developed a unique software program named Zeus™ for automated and predictable control of acid neutralization systems. Zeus™ includes pH probe and alarm management, and can handle multiple-stage operation. Nothing like it exists elsewhere on the market.

Heavy-duty mixers, such as Lightnin, are the key to fast reactions and reliable neutralization operation. Wastech takes mixing very seriously, and mixer performance is monitored by software. Each mixer is specified for the tank shape and size for the application. Tank baffles may be included. Wastech refuses to user low-cost mixers or metering pumps. Tank sizes and shapes are computed to assure that the discharge is within limits for all expected surges in the waste stream.

Industrial, oversized, metering pumps
allow the system to react rapidly to waste stream surges with slugs of strong acid or chemical dumps that would upset conventional designs and cause NOVs.

Wastech uses only the most reliable industrial sensors, calibrates them, installs them correctly, and then monitors their life cycle with software. Since pH sensors can be the weakest links in the control system and can be consumed by the waste stream itself, some Wastech systems use three pH probes in each tank for redundancy.

Quality components and fail-safe design result in operational savings and lower maintenance costs. When the system is automated, works reliably, and anticipate problems, the system discharge is always within limits and NOVs (notices of violation) are eliminated!

Violation protection for discharge outside of limits. If the monitoring tank pH probe ever sees anything outside of discharge limits, actuated valves recycle the waste stream for reprocessing.
